Gjøra Camping

    Situation
After turning off at Gjøra junction on the primary road no. 70, follow the road signposted Hafsås for 1 km, crossing the river Driva. On the right hand side, opposite the Sunndal National park center you will find Gjøra Camping. Big pine trees and wild mountains surround the campsite. Many people find the eternal sound of the two rivers Grøvu and Driva relaxing. Laid back holidays of fishing, mountain walking, visiting waterfalls and mountain farms etc. will revive your spirit.
    Old Timers
Gjøra Camping was established in the early 1960's, and some guests have faithfully returned almost every summer since then. Old Timers like the Swedes Maja and Eine and the Norwegians Brit and Svein join each other and they know all the secrets about the Sunndal Mountains better than many of the Gjøra inhabitants. Initiative, patience and little knowledge, blended together, guarantee luck with fishing and wonderful experiences in nature.
    Facilities
In 1995 the new reception and sanitary building was ready. A well-equipped kitchen, laundry and drying facilities are available to the guests. High standards, peaceful surroundings and good capacity signify Gjøra camping. There are four cosy cabins, two of them with bathroom and separate bedroom, and more than 30 tent and caravan sites, plenty of space for outdoors sports, barbecuing etc.
